Watch a Tesla Model 3 being dismantled for science and safety

Tesla has been working with first responders to help them better understand their electric vehicles and how to approach them in a possible extraction operation.

Now, we have a cool video of a Tesla Model 3 being dismantled.

Brock Archer is a first responder training expert who has often worked with Tesla in the past.

While his methods are obviously destructive, he often gives us great insights through the architectures of Tesla’s products by dismantling them as instructional videos for first responders.

For example, we have seen him go through the Tesla Model X’s unique structure by dismantling it and he has even covered Tesla’s solar roof tiles.

Now, he has now partnered with Jim Bolton (Reno Fire) and the Fremont Fire Department to tackle the Model 3.

Archer says that the Model 3 is “electrically very different than Model S and Model X.” He explains that the high voltage cables are more concentrated, which makes it easier for them to avoid the potentially dangerous cable:

Along with the battery pack installed on the floor, first responders cutting through Model 3 only have a few sections of the Model 3 to worry about.

Here’s the video of the Model 3 emergency response discussion and extraction demonstration:
