Lexus undercuts luxury rivals with 2027 ES prices starting under $50,000

The all-electric 2027 Lexus ES returns for the 2027 model year, with prices starting under $50,000.

2027 Lexus ES prices and driving range

After introducing the first battery-electric version last year, Lexus is bringing the ES back for its second model year as an EV.

The new ES is completely redesigned inside and out. Based on the LF-ZC show car, the electric sedan features Lexus’ new Spindle Body design, the latest evolution of its signature grille.

Measuring 202.4″ long, 75.6″ wide, and 61.4″ tall, with a wheelbase of 116.1″, the all-new Lexus ES is slightly larger than its predecessor and offers more interior space for front and rear passengers. It’s about the size of the BMW 5 Series sedan.

Inside, all 2027 ES models are equipped with a new 12.3″ driver Multi-Information Display and the latest Lexus infotainment system with a 14″ touchscreen.

A wireless phone charger, SmartAccess keyless entry, and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android are standard on all 2027 ES variants.

The 2027 Lexus ES is available in two grades: the ES 350e, a front-wheel-drive (FWD) model, and the ES 500e, an all-wheel-drive (AWD) model, with Premium and Luxury trims.

The ES 350e has a single front-mounted electric motor delivering 221 hp. The 500e adds a 118-hp rear electric motor for a combined 338 hp.

With more power and DIRECT4 AWD, the 500e is quicker than the 350e, with an estimated 0-60 mph time of 5.1 seconds.

Every ES 350e and 500e uses the same 74.7 kWh battery pack. The ES 350e has an EPA-estimated range of up to 307 miles with the standard 19″ wheels. With the available 21″ wheels, the range is 292 miles.

The ES 500e has a 276-mile EPA-estimated driving range. Again, that’s with 19″ wheels. With 21″ wheels, it gets 272 miles.

The 2027 Lexus ES 350e Premium starts at $49,005, including a $1,395 destination fee. The AWD ES 500e Premium starts at $52,005.

Starting under $50,000, the Lexus ES is cheaper than its luxury rivals, such as the BMW i4 and Audi A6 e-tron.

Those prices are for the all-electric version. The hybrid 2027 Lexus ES 350h Premium is slightly more expensive, starting at $51,200. The 2027 models are expected to begin arriving at dealerships in September.

With the 2027 models en route, the best deals are likely on the outgoing ES. If you’re interested, you can use our link to find deals on the Lexus ES at a dealership near you (trusted partner link).
