BYD’s latest flagship EV, the Great Han, is now on sale in China, starting at about $35,000 with a CLTC range of over 1,000 km (621 miles).
BYD Great Han EV prices and range
The Great Han, or “Da Han” as it’s sold in China, is BYD’s first fully electric D-segment flagship sedan under its Dynasty series.
BYD launched the luxury sedan in China on Tuesday with three variants, priced from 235,900 yuan, or about $35,000.
It’s available in single- and dual-motor powertrains. The base rear-wheel-drive (RWD) Premium model offers a CLTC range of up to 1,008 km (626 miles), while the top-spec all-wheel-drive (AWD) Flagship variant provides 880 km (546 miles).
All variants use a 102.326 kWh BYD Blade 2.0 battery pack. The RWD models have a single 370 kW (496 hp) motor, while the AWD variant adds a 200 kW front motor for a combined 570 kW (764 hp).
All Great Han models also include a roof-mounted LiDAR and BYD’s God’s Eye B intelligent driver assistance system.

The setup offers safety and convenience features including Navigate on Autopilot on highways and in cities, plus remote autonomous parking.
With BYD’s second-gen Blade Batteries and Flash Charging technology, the flagship EV can charge from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. A full recharge (10% to 97%) takes just 9 minutes.

So Han get put a roof-mounted LiDar on their cars at the low-low price of $35,000, but Tesla continues to claim LiDar is too expensive?
The Great Han is 5,256 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,510 mm high, with a 3,130 mm wheelbase, or slightly bigger than the Tesla Model S and Lucid Air. It’s about the size of the long-wheelbase Mercedes -Benz S-Class.
Like many of BYD’s new luxury vehicles, the Great Han is loaded with premium extras, such as its DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension system, rear-wheel steering, and zero-gravity front seats.

The Great Han joins the Great Tang SUV as the flagship sedan under BYD’s Dynasty lineup. After launching the Great Tang in mid-June, BYD sold over 10,000 units each month in its first three months on the market.
