Kia said the EV2 is already seeing “significant and immediate demand,” with 3,386 registrations in the UK so far.
Kia EV2 sees strong demand after launch
Kia’s smallest electric SUV is off to a promising start. After opening orders in Europe and the UK in April, Kia sold over 8,000 EV2s in its first full three months on the market.
With deliveries now in full swing, the EV2 helped propel Kia to its highest-ever third-quarter sales since it began selling vehicles in 1962.
Kia is now the fastest-growing top 10 car brand in Europe, thanks to its full lineup of electric vehicles ranging from the entry-level EV2 to the three-row EV9 and PV5 van.
After EV registrations surged 58% year-on-year through August, Kia accounted for 4.8% of the European EV market, ranking seventh overall. In markets like France (+120%), Germany (+112%), the UK (+66%), Spain (+60%), and Italy (+41%), Kia saw particularly strong demand.

The EV3 remained among Kia’s most popular EVs, while newer models like the EV2, EV4, and EV5 also helped drive growth.
In the UK, a key battleground market, Kia said the EV2, which only began full-scale customer deliveries in mid-Q3, “saw significant and immediate demand” from buyers. The EV2 has managed 3,386 registrations year-to-date (YTD), with 1,753 in September alone.

According to Kia, the EV2 was “the UK’s most popular retail-market EV” with 1,429 registrations in September.
Kia has delivered 31,813 electric vehicles in the UK YTD, accounting for more than 33% of its total registrations. Behind Tesla, Kia is now the UK’s second best-selling electric car brand through September.

The EV2 Air long edition is on sale starting at £24,245 ($32,500) in the UK, including the government’s £3,750 Electric Clean Car Grant (ECG).
