BYD calls it the industry’s first AI-powered smart luxury SUV. The new Denza N8L EV is an all-electric version of the current plug-in hybrid (PHEV), starting at 299,800 yuan, or about $45,000.
BYD launches the all-electric Denza N8L EV
A few weeks ago, BYD’s luxury sub-brand Denza claimed the new all-electric N8 boasted “a world-leading 1,003 km pure electric range,” equipped with its latest batteries and other breakthrough technology.
The Denza N8L EV is an extended version, offering more interior space and seating for six compared to five in the standard version.
Denza first launched the N8L almost a year ago, in October 2025, but it was only available as a plug-in hybrid. The new variant adds an all-electric option to the lineup.
The new Denza N8L EV is available in two versions. The N8L EV Premium starts at 299,800 yuan, or about $45,000, while the Flagship model is priced at 329,800 yuan ($49,000).
Both are equipped with a 130.15 kWh BYD Blade Battery 2.0, enabling a CLTC range of up to 960 km (596 miles).

The electric SUV also uses an 800V electrical architecture and BYD’s Flash Charging technology, enabling it to charge from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes. A full recharge (10% to 97%) takes just 9 minutes.
Measuring 5,200 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,820 mm high, with a 3,075 mm wheelbase, the EV version is the same size as the current Denza N8L PHEV.
Inside, the new luxury SUV has six seats in a 2+2+2 seating arrangement. It also features Denza’s Smart Travel Ecosystem and AI super-intelligent assistant, with a host of apps and connected services that let drivers control smart home devices and other smart equipment.

Other premium interior features include NAPPA leather seats, a suede velvet roof, translucent Starry Sky Real Wood Veneer, and a Devialet sound system.
It includes six digital screens: an instrument cluster, a central infotainment screen, a passenger entertainment screen, two additional rear entertainment screens, and a drop-down screen. It also includes an AR Head-Up Display (AR-HUD).

Like many of BYD’s higher-end vehicles, the new Denza N8L features its Disus-A body control system and dual-chamber air suspension to deliver what it calls a “million-level driving experience.”
The new luxury SUV features BYD’s God’s Eye 5.0 assisted driving, supporting ADAS features such as High Speed Navigate on Autopilot and automatic remote parking.
