Ford’s new electric pickup will go on sale in the US early next year, starting at $28,350. Buyers in Canada won’t have to wait much longer, with pre-orders also set to open in early 2027.
Ford Fathom EV pickup prices in Canada and the US
After revealing the name and starting price for the new pickup last week, Ford confirmed pre-orders for the Fathom will also open in Canada in early 2027.
Ford’s new Fathom EV pickup will start at CA$38,690 in Canada, including a CA$4,000 federal EVAP (Electric Vehicle Affordability Program) incentive.
Like in the US, Ford will open pre-orders for the standard-range model first. Prices do not include dealer or delivery fees.
The Ford Fathom will start at $28,350 in the US, excluding a $1,595 delivery fee. According to Ford, the electric pickup will compete in “the heart of the affordable EV market,” but price is the least interesting aspect.
Ford said the EV pickup will have more passenger space than a Toyota RAV4, and it will be significantly more advanced.
The Fathom will be equipped with a large, high-resolution touchscreen, bidirectional charging enabling vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities, a digital key, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard.
All models are BlueCruise-capable, while the pickup will be the first vehicle to have Apple Maps built in. The integration will offer turn-by-turn directions using real-time data, EV routing, battery preconditioning, and more, all directly through the navigation display.
Ford will also use data from Apple Maps to develop the next-generation BlueCruise hands-free driving tech.
While Ford has yet to reveal battery specs, range, and other details, the Fathom will have a native NACS port. Last month, two prototypes were spotted charging at a Tesla Supercharger in the US.
Given Ford’s focus on efficiency and aerodynamics, the electric pickup is expected to deliver at least 300 miles of range. However, the standard-range model could offer slightly less range at a lower price.
We’ll have to wait until closer to when it goes on sale for official range figures. Ford will open pre-orders for the Fathom in the US and Canada in early 2027.
