Kia’s first electric van, the PV5, is set to go on sale in Canada soon. Kia said the P5 is yet another affordable EV the company plans to launch in 2026.
Canada, Meet the Kia PV5
The PV5 is more than your typical van. It’s an all-electric people mover that uses Hyundai’s flexible EV platform and latest software for an all-in-one total mobility solution.
After launching the electric van in Europe and South Korea in late 2025, Kia is now bringing the PV5 to new markets throughout 2026.
So far, it’s been a hit. The PV5 is already among Kia’s top-selling EVs in Korea. In Europe, the PV5 accounted for 9% of light commercial electric vehicle (eLCV) sales in the first few months of the year.
Kia announced that prices for the PV5 will start at CAD 46,995 ($33,099) in Canada when it goes on sale in Q4 2026. All trims also qualify for the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program, offering up to CAD 5,000 toward the purchase.

The PV5 will be available in the Cargo model with two trims: Basic and Plus. Both are powered by a 71.2 kWh battery, which Kia estimates will provide a driving range of up to 223 miles (360 km) on a single charge.
It will come with a built-in NACS charge port and DC fast charging, going from 10% to 80% in as little as 30 minutes.

The PV5 Cargo is a 2-seater with 5,016 liters of cargo space, a 1,631-lb payload, and a 2,995-mm wheelbase.
With a flexible interior, Kia said the PV5 can be customized to meet different business needs. The Basic model includes a 7″ driver cluster and a new 12.9″ infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

It comes with advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features like Blind Spot Collision Avoidance, Lane Keep Assist, Forward Collision Assist, Highway Driving Assist, and more. With OTA updates, Kia said the PV5 will continue to improve and add new features over time.
Upgrading to the Plus trim adds a wireless phone charger, V2L (inside and outside), heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel.

The PV5 Plus also includes Surround View Monitor and Blind Spot Monitor to make driving and parking nearly effortless.
Kia said the PV5 is expected to be available in Canada, starting in Q4 2024. More details and specifications will come closer to launch.
The PV5 joins Kia’s growing lineup of affordable electric vehicles in Canada, including the new EV4 and EV5.
| 2027 Kia PV5 trim | MSRP | All-In price* |
| Kia PV5 Basic | CAD 46,995 | CAD 49,744 |
| Kia PV5 Plus | CAD 49,095 | CAD 51,844 |
“The PV5 is yet another affordable option the company is introducing in 2026,” David Sherrard, Director of Strategic Planning at Kia Canada, said.
In December, Kia launched the EV4 starting at CAD 38,995 as Canada’s most affordable EV at the time.
Electrek’s Take
Will Kia ever bring the PV5 to the US? A few test vehicles have been spotted driving around in the US, but Kia has yet to confirm it.
Since the PV5 is built in Korea, it would be subject to the Trump Administration’s import tariffs, which would likely make it too costly for Kia to sell.
For the same reason, Kia delayed the EV4 indefinitely and likely won’t introduce the EV5 electric SUV either.
While Canada is getting yet another affordable, practical EV, the US will likely miss out thanks to the Trump Administration.
