Parking in a busy city is never fun. Kia’s new entry-level electric SUV makes life easy with Remote Smart Parking Assist, enabling the EV2 to park itself.
The Kia EV2 makes parking a breeze
The EV2 is Kia’s smallest, most affordable electric SUV, sitting below the popular EV3 as its new entry-level vehicle.
Kia opened orders in Germany last week, starting at €26,600 ($30,500). Buyers can choose from two battery packs: 42.2 kWh or 61 kWh, providing WLTP ranges of up to 317 km (197 miles) and 453 km (281 miles), respectively. In Germany, Kia is offering leases as low as €239 ($275) a month.
Like the EV3, it’s based on a 400V architecture rather than the 800V used for Kia’s other EVs to save costs. It also features a new “Light” version of Kia’s triple-screen ccNC infotainment system.
While the setup includes the same dual 12.3″ driver cluster and navigation screens, alongside a 5″ climate control, it does not include built-in navigation.
Kia said drivers can still connect their smartphones via apps like Google Maps to display navigation directly on the vehicle’s infotainment screen.

Although Kia had to cut costs somewhere to keep prices low, the entry-level SUV is still packed with a full suite of ADAS and convenience features typically found on higher-priced models.
The EV2 comes with a 360-degree Surround View Monitor, front and rear parking sensors, Reverse Collision Avoidance, and even Remote Parking Assist.
Kia’s Remote Park Assist enables the vehicle to park itself without the driver at the push of a button. To test it out, Kia partnered with Maisie Adam, who appeared on the World’s Most Dangerous Roads, to put the self-parking technology to the test in real life.
“The EV2 technology is a real game-changer for me and my parking – it’s like having a remote control car, and being able to reverse while you’re outside the car is so much easier,” Maisie said after trying it out.
Kia is offering those interested a “taste” of the EV2’s tech on March 27 through a special valet service at the Westquay Shopping Centre in Southampton, UK.
The EV2 standard-range (42.2 kWh) battery variant is now in production at Kia’s Žilina, Slovakia, facility. The extended-range (61 kWh) battery and the sporty GT-Line version will join it in June 2026. Kia will begin customer deliveries this summer.
For those in the US, the EV2 is another electric vehicle we will never get to see. Kia has already delayed several EVs due to the Trump Administration’s policy changes and import tariffs.
