You can now lock and charge your VW EV from your wrist

Volkswagen just made it easier for EV owners to remotely access their cars without pulling out their phones. The myVW app now works on both watchOS and Wear OS smartwatches, giving drivers quick access to key vehicle functions right from their wrists.

If you own a model-year 2020 or newer Volkswagen EV and you’re enrolled in a connected services plan, you can use the myVW smartwatch app to lock or unlock your car, honk and flash the lights, and check your vehicle and lock status. EV drivers also get charging features like remote charging, charge status, and even climate start and stop if their car is equipped.

To use the new smartwatch integration, drivers need to download the myVW app, add their vehicle to the virtual garage, accept the myVW and myVW+ terms of service, and make sure they’re subscribed to a Remote Access or VW Vehicle Insights plan. Once that’s set, the features show up right on your smartwatch for quick, on-the-go access.
