“America’s most affordable 315+ mile range EV” is getting even cheaper. Chevy’s new all-electric Equinox is already due for its next model year. The Chevy Equinox EV is getting slightly more power, along with the promised $35,000 variant arriving in 2025.
Chevy claims its all-electric Equinox is the “most affordable” EV with over 315 miles range. The cheapest 2024 Chevy Equinox (2LT FWD) model starts at $41,900 with up to 319 miles range.
However, the company says a more affordable 1LT FWD will be available to order later this year, starting at $34,995.
After Equinox EV deliveries kicked off in May, GM vowed the lower-priced model was on its way. It looks like that could mean for the 2025 model year.
Chevy’s Equinox EV will get slightly more power in 2025. FWD models will feature 220 hp, up from 213 hp, while the dual-motor AWD variant gets an extra 12 hp, for a total of up to 300 hp.
The electric SUV’s trims have also been adjusted slightly. The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV trims will be streamlined with LT and RS models.
Chevy Equinox EV to add $35K trim in 2025
The 2LT trim will become the LT, with standard features now optional. Meanwhile, the 2025 LT trim gains cloth seats, a urethane steering wheel, and a six-way adjustable driver seat as standard.
Chevy will offer the entry-level LT trim in different packages, including Comfort, Active Safety 2, and Convenience. The higher-priced LT and RS models will be offered with its Active Safety Package 3 and Convenience Package 2.
Basically, the Convenience Package includes the extras found in the 2024 Equinox 2LT model. The Convenience Package 2 includes many of the features from the 3LT trim.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV RS includes the Convenience Package features as standard with black roof rails.
Keep in mind that the Chevy Equinox EV also qualifies for the $7,500 EV tax credit, which is not reflected in the prices. With it included, 2LT prices fall to as low as $35,795. Meanwhile, the entry-level 1LT could be bought for potentially under $27,500.
