Twenty-four hours after camouflaged images emerged of ZEEKR’s second mass-market BEV, internally codenamed “CX1e,” the Chinese automaker has confirmed it will be called the 7X. Below, we have the first official image of the family-friendly SUV and some new specs.
As we reported yesterday, ZEEKR shared images of a new all-electric SUV that will arrive as its sixth model in three years. Our first glimpse consisted of several camouflaged images featuring a sleek five-seat SUV with a unique wrap job.
Furthermore, ZEEKR vice president Lin Jinwen hinted that the lettering on the wrap offered insight into the new model and what it will be called. The “X” on the camo was very clear, but we guessed it would also include a “Z” in the name.
We were close.
We were promised more details soon but didn’t expect them to come a day later. Still, that’s welcomed news, and we’re excited to report that ZEEKR’s new SUV will be called the 7X.
ZEEKR shares first un-camouflaged image of the 7X SUV
ZEEKR shared its first official image of the rear of the 7X SUV, which you can see above, alongside the BEV’s measurements. It will sit at 4,825mm long, 1,930mm wide, and 1,656mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,925mm.
That is taller, longer, and has a wider wheelbase than the ZEEKR X SUV, which began production in China nearly a year ago. Sitting atop Geely’s SAE platform, the 7X will debut as ZEEKR’s second-largest model behind the 009 MPV.
It will also join the X as ZEEKR’s second model to expand to the global BEV market, so we should eventually see it in Europe after it officially launches later this year. We are unsure when we will learn more about the performance of the 7X, but ZEEKR shared that more images will be published later this week. Stay tuned.
