SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition live blog and livestream

Electrek (Seth and myself) are in Hawthorne today for the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition where teams of engineers and students are going to try to break some speed records with prototype pods of this new mode of transportation.

We are going to bring you as much as possible through our social media platforms and this post is going to be the hub for the event.

In order to accelerate the development of functional prototypes and encourage student innovation, SpaceX announced the Hyperloop Pod Competition back in 2015. The goal is to challenge university teams to design and build the best transport Pod.

The first two competitions were held in January and August 2017.

This year, many teams are coming back with more advanced pod designs and prototype to impress Elon Musk and the Tesla and SpaceX engineers behind the project.

We don’t exactly how the day is going to play out, but we are going to post the interesting things that we see throughout the day on our Twitter and Instagram accounts. We will also try to livestream some of the most interresting parts of the competition on our Youtube Channel so subscribe now to know when it begins.

Refresh for updates below starting at 11AM Pacific time:
