Elon Musk is apparently all hands on deck with the Tesla Model 3 production right now in order to help push the ramp to 5,000 units per week. He is even sleeping at the factory to make it happen.
Now, he is giving the first glimpse inside the Tesla Model 3 production line.
Musk has been reducing his number of media appearances over the last year and aside from a few conferences, he hasn’t given many interviews.
But he has now agreed to an interview with CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King to give the first look inside the Model 3 production line at the Tesla Fremont factory.
The show has released a few excerpts from the interview about the production ramp:
“I definitely feel stress, yeah. It’s like – we’ve been incredibly difficult and painful the last several months,” Musk said.
“Painful?” King asked.
“Absolutely, of course. Yeah, I’m sleeping on the factory floor, not because I think that’s a fun place to sleep. You know. Terrible,” he said.
“Sleeping on the factory floor, doing – why are you doing that?”
“Because I don’t have time to go home and shower,” Musk responded.
“It’s that simple?”
“Yes,” Musk said. “I don’t believe like people should be experiencing hardship while the CEO is like off on vacation.”

They showed some footage in a preview of the interview today, but the full interview and look inside the factory is going to air tomorrow:

Electrek’s Take
The footage that they released is very short, but we can clearly see some Model 3 chassis and I think we see the area where the Model 3 body is joined with the Model 3 powertrain.
We should probably have a better look tomorrow with the full interview, but let us know if you spot anything interesting.
