With more Model 3’s on the road, we are learning more about the electric vehicle and now that Jameson has his own Model 3, he is working to answer all your questions about the car while working on his full review for Electrek.
But until we get into the nitty-gritty, we are finding out about Easter eggs in the vehicle’s software that early Model 3 owners are discovering.
Tesla likes to hide Easter Eggs in its software.
Most of the time, they are meant to be funny. Examples include the navigation showing your Tesla on Mars with a SpaceX spacecraft, the Tesla control panel showing James Bond’s (now Elon Musk’s) Underwater Lotus, and more recently, the Christmas theme Tesla Easter egg called ‘Santa Mode’.
But this new Easter egg in the Model 3 is not really funny. It instead serves as a hat tip to the Tesla team – presumably some of the employees responsible for Tesla’s new model.
On the “About your Tesla” window, which is accessed by pressing the ‘T’ logo, owners can press and hold the ‘3’ in the ‘Model 3’ for a few seconds and the rendering of their Model 3 will move forward out of the window.
Jameson demonstrates it here with his new Model 3:
The render of the Model 3 is then replaced by a picture of a Model 3 surrounded by Tesla employees with CEO Elon Musk and Chief Designer Franz von Holzhausen at the center:
That’s an interesting one and a nice nod to the people behind the new electric vehicle.
