Chevy today teased on its Facebook Page that it would be announcing the Bolt’s EV range tomorrow but asked readers to guess the range today. I don’t think you’ll get a free Bolt or anything but it’s a fun game to play…and we have a poll below for your guesses…
Some things to consider:
- The 60kWh battery pack in the Bolt is the same as the much bigger Tesla Model S base amount and that car’s range is officially 208 miles
- The Bolt’s aerodynamics were called “a disaster” with its .32 Coefficient of drag. That compares to the .22/.21 of the Model S and X/ Model 3.
- The BMW i3 with similar body type extended range 33kWh battery takes it an EPA range of 114 miles
- Chevy, or really LG, is no slouch when it comes EV efficiency so I’d be surprised to see it close to 200.
I’m going to say 220. You?
