Cool projection mapping system on a Tesla Model S [Video]

Production companies Mindconsole and ProVideo released a video this week showcasing their new projection mapping technique using the Tesla Model S as a model. The result is pretty cool.

They say the vehicle was “the obvious choice” due to its “unique and bold design”.

Mindconsole explains the tech behind the system:

“The mapping system utilizes 7 projectors – 6 for the 360-degree mapping on the car, and 1 additional for the ‘perspective mapping’ seen towards the end of the video, in which a visual illusion causes the car to seem as if it is moving.”

You should definitely watch until the end.

Here’s the video:

While pretty cool, it doesn’t beat the electroluminescent paint job from Dark Scientific featured in the documentary Racing Extinction.
