Update: Check out the full announcement video.
Earlier today, LeEco (previously known as LeTV) announced its first set of China-bound phones since its rebranding, but the company also used today’s event in Beijing — attended by more than 10,000 people — to unveil its first all-electric concept car dubbed LeSee…
As you might be aware, LeEco has what it calls a “strategic partnership” with Faraday Future, the EV startup that revealed its concept earlier this year at CES. LeSee, however, was developed completely in-house by LeEco and is only one part of what the company calls a “shared future mobility ecosystem.” When under development, the concept was known as “LeSupercar” and, along with Faraday Future, is only one of the company’s many electric vehicle projects including an investment in Atieva and a partnership with Aston Martin.
“This is a big dream that we all share We are not simply building an electric vehicle that is smart, instead, we want to invent a new mobility for the future.”
Details about the new concept are light for now, but LeEco says it’s (roughly translated) “the world’s first self-evolving car,” and “the world’s first ecosystem mobility tool.”
The theoretical top speed of this car is 130 MPH, and LeEco says that the front fascia of the car is a smart screen that can show the specific data about the vehicle when it is running. The car can also “become part of the private ride fleet,” LeEco said, and information regarding availability of the car can be shown on its front as well.
LeEco says that automated driving is a technology that it eventually wants to incorporate into the LeSee. And also like other concepts we’ve seen in the past, the LeSee’s steering wheel can be folded down when you activate the self-driving mode.
LeEco also says that the car provides an “isolated area for each passenger” so that when one passenger is listening to music or other entertainment, they won’t be bothering other passengers sitting next to them.
We’ll be back with a full video of the concept’s unveiling, more photos, and more details within the coming hours.
Editor update: The picture above were taken by Stephen at the event in Beijing and now Leeco also sent us some official promotional shots:

Is it only me thinking they actually took a Model S and modified it? Compare for example the side windows in the featured picture with the picture from the next article (about owner satisfaction), they are identical. The more I look at this “prototype”, the more I see a Model S in disguise.
They are Chineese, this is what they do.
STFU bigot…armchair designer, tell me where it’s similar to the model s?
@lol
Are you talking to me? First, I’m sorry you’re having a bad day. Second, have you ever seen a modified car? There are actual Model S’s that are even less similar to a Model S than this one (try googling for “will i am model s” for example).
Release Date? Price? Range per charge?
If you can’t even give ballparks for those, you’re not close enough to a finished product to warrant announcing anything.
What is going on in that back seat? 😕
good question. I was wondering the same thing.
Push the front and a giant dvd pops out.
Wonder if the driver can see the road out those slits…
looks likes Porsche mission E! Matter of fact has 90% of Porsche Mission E Exterior design details. And interior has Porsche Mission E design elements. Classic Chinese copy and paste design and business model. LeEco chairman is full of himself! Bullshitting to Chinese public on daily basis.
Though I would jump on the “copy/paste” conclusion, I agree there are similarities with Porsche’s Mission E design.
Fred,
A Blind person can see the similarities ( LeEco is stealing Porsche Mission E cool design) but the funny part is that, LeEco chairman is claiming with straight-face his four seater sport car concept will ” invent a new mobility for the future”,“the world’s first self-evolving car,” and “the world’s first ecosystem mobility tool.” and Be part of ride-sharing platform. LeEco used all the Auto industry and Silicon Valley new buzzwords including artificial intelligence. LeEco business model is to copy and start propagating to Elderly Chinese shareholders into believing LeEco is Samsung (TV), Apple (Mobile), Amazon ( AWS cloud), Netflix (Shows + Movies) Tesla (Car), SpaceX (Launch+) and so on, of China in ONE COMPANY. Yesterday you reported Tencent Holdings and their new obsession with Silicon Valley and Auto Industry new buzzword “Mobility.” I think you reported -they named their new venture “Future Mobility Corp.” Chinese Shareholders are watching Tesla and Silicon Valley in general on daily basis. The more you pretend to be Silicon valley based company, the more help your company gets from China’s stockmarket Gurus and heavyweights brokers. And If you want to know, how much of a bullshit this car is, look at the windshield position! (1) restricts driver view and (2) windshield and door don’t align. I think this is a little stunt to raise money! But hey, this is China! They’ll believe nationalism and bullshit companies with zero innovations and stocks that – are worth nothing outside China.
Looks very similar the apple car pics posted just the other day…
I sort of like the rear end. The wheels are nice. And everything else is hideous. WHAT is going on under the doors?! Why does the interior look like it came from a Zeppelin? Why does it have that face, that blank smile with no eyes, yeah that’s not off-putting at all. BARF. But hey, the wheels are nice.
Sir
I need full details le see model cars
