With a slow production ramp up and over 25,000 reservations, it was inevitable that a few early Model X owners would try to make a quick buck by flipping their new all-electric SUV, and this listing appears to be the first attempt.
For about $200,000, you can join the ranks of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, NVIDIA CEO Jen-Hsun Huang, legendary VC Steve Jurvetson and others, as owner of a ‘Founder Series’ Model X.
The Founder Series are believed to be limited to about 60 units and reserved only for important company insiders, investors and a few top referrers. The Founder Series is not the only limited edition Model X. There’s also the Signature Model X which required a $40,000 deposit to reserve. Signature series are limited to about 1,000 units. Then there’s the regular production version.
The listing doesn’t disclose all the options, but it’s safe to assume that the $200,000 price tag represents a roughly 40% premium on a brand new Model X similarly equipped.

we can see that it has the Founder VIN nº64, so I wonder how many founder cars have been produced. Maybe 75 as some winners of the referral program will receive one to.
Close to 214 sold in last quarter of 2015 in USA. And then some more produced but not yet delivered.
He is referring only to founder series. The figures you are referring to include Signature Series.
Perhaps the price premium is more than justified for some buyers due to it including your very own “Ludacris Performance!” as opposed to merely the performance delivered by Tesla’s Ludicrous Speed upgrade. Not sure how they got the artist to agree to that …
If he ships outside too, its a way better deal, even bigger delays and higher prices to start outside the US.

Full normal X cost north of 130k $. Founders come fully loaded. Do it’s 30% extra.
However since it’s luxury commodity, I suspect that somebody just thought about high enough to be shocking 😉 without counting anything as mundane as % ‘S 😉
