Tesla will release its first quarter 2018 earnings results tomorrow and as usual, it will be followed by a public conference call with financial analysts and Tesla’s management.
For a change, Elon Musk will also take a crowdsourced question from Tesla retail investor during the earnings call.
The automaker’s quarterly calls are often more entertaining than what we are used to – mostly because Musk arguably talks more candidly than your average CEO of a large company.
While an important part of the calls is often just analysts asking for clarifications and more “color” on some financial results for the quarter, the conversation often gets stirred toward Tesla’s future plans and products.
But there has been less of that in recent calls and they have arguably become more boring for the average investors who often don’t care about the same things as analysts from Wall Street firms.
Now Tesla retail investors, individuals who invest in stocks independently of larger institutions, will be able to ask a crowdsourced question to Musk as the CEO apparently agreed to the proposal on Twitter last night:
Ok

A campaign to make it happens was started by Galileo Russell, a financial analyst and Tesla retail investor. We had Galileo on a recent episode of the Electrek Podcast to talk about his view on Tesla’s stock.
A company’s annual shareholders’ meeting, which Tesla will hold in June, is generally the venue for retail investors to ask questions to a firm’s management, but it now looks like Tesla investors will have the opportunity to do it on a quarterly basis instead.
If you could ask a question to Elon Musk during the earnings call, what would it be? Let us know in the comment section below.
