The iX5 is set to go on sale in early 2027, but BMW is already offering a loyalty discount to sweeten the deal for those looking to stay with the brand.
BMW iX5 gets an early loyalty discount
Following the new iX3 and i3, the iX5 will go on sale in early 2027 with BMW’s Neue Klasse-inspired design, technology, and sixth-generation (Gen6) eDrive system.
The iX5 is the first fully electric BMW X5. For its fifth generation, the BMW X5 will be available in gas, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and battery electric (EV) powertrains in the US. Overseas markets will also see diesel and hydrogen fuel-cell versions.
While the gas-powered 2027 X5 40 xDrive is now available, the electric iX5 still says it’s “coming in 2027” on BMW’s website.
BMW is already sweetening the deal with a $1,000 loyalty discount for returning buyers or lessees, according to a memo CarsDirect reviewed that was sent to dealers.
Although a $1,000 credit may not seem like much, it’s twice what BMW is offering for the 2027 iX3. The discount doesn’t require a trade-in and can be stacked with other offers.

BMW’s loyalty discount provides a cash rebate off the MSRP when you buy or lease a new BMW through BMW Financial Services and have owned or leased another BMW within the last 12 months.
The iX5 doesn’t have any other current discounts or lease offers, but keep an eye out closer to launch.

Earlier this week, BMW showcased the i5’s fast-charging capabilities for the first time during a media event in Southern California with IONNA and Alpitronic. During the event, the iX5 60 xDrive hit a peak of 464 kW, which BMW said enables it to add up to 170 miles of range in 10 minutes.
The iX5 60 xDrive uses a massive 144 kWh battery, which BMW estimates will offer up to 435 miles of range.
Powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, the electric SUV delivers a combined 578 hp (425 kW) and 593 lb-ft of torque, and can go from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. It can also tow up to 6,000 lbs.

Inside, the iX5 adopts BMW’s Neue Klasse setup, with a wide 17.9″ central touchscreen and BMW Panoramic Vision that spans the base of the windshield. Buyers can also add the optional 14.6″ passenger screen.
Measuring 197.2″ in length, 78.7″ in width, and 68.9″ in height, the iX5 is about the size of the Porsche Cayenne Electric.
BMW will officially launch the 2027 iX5 50 xDrive in the US in the first quarter of 2027, starting at $79,800.
The iX5 is the first all-electric BMW model produced in the US. Production is set to begin at its Plant Spartanburg in South Carolina by the end of the year.
