BMW’s new electric SUV just got the M treatment. The new BMW iX3 M60 “raises the stakes,” packing a combined 603 hp and plenty of standard M upgrades.
BMW gives the iX3 the M treatment with the M60 xDrive
After revealing the new iX4, including a M60 xDrive variant, BMW introduced another high-performance EV this week.
The iX3 M60 xDrive takes it up a notch as the line-up’s most performance-focused variant. Its dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) powertrain delivers a combined 603 hp and 645 lb-ft of torque, which BMW says enables it to sprint from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.9 seconds.
That’s nearly a full second faster than the standard iX3 50 xDrive. The standard iX3 delivers a combined 463 hp and 476 lb-ft of torque with a 0 to 62 mph time of 4.7 seconds.
BMW said the added power comes from a new Gen6 EESM (electronically controlled synchronous motor) at the rear axle, a newly developed stator, and a more powerful inverter. It also has a longer gear ratio that boosts the vehicle’s top speed to 149 mph, up from the standard model’s 130 mph.

Like the 50 xDrive, the new iX3 M60 uses BMW’s Gen6 eDrive, a 112.2 kWh battery, and an 800V architecture.
BMW has yet to reveal range, but it will likely fall a bit short of the iX3 50’s EPA-estimated 434 miles.
The new M60 variant stands apart with exclusive M design elements inspired by racing cars of the past, like the BMW M Hybrid V8.

It features progressive light elements on both sides of the redesigned BMW kidney grille. Each light has three elements inspired by the iconic BMW M stripes, plus there’s also an integrated M badge in the light signature.
The range-topping iX3 will come standard with 21″ M alloy wheels, but buyers can upgrade to the new optional 22″ M aerodynamic wheels.

Inside, the iX3 M60 comes with “extensive standard equipment,” BMW said. The setup includes a 17″ central touchscreen, 43″ BMW Panoramic Vision, and an M Sport steering wheel as standard, along with the optional 3D Head-Up Display.
Although it’s the same infotainment display, the M60 features an M-specific display with unique colors, graphics, and typography compared to the standard iX3.
The new M Sport steering wheel features shy-tech controls and a distinct red marker at the 12 o’clock position.

It also includes dedicated physical buttons to activate M-specific modes, such as M Sport and M Sport Plus. For an added cost, buyers can upgrade to the M Sport seats with lumbar support, an adjustable thigh support, and a massage function.
The new iX3 M60 also comes standard with a premium 13-speaker Harman Kardon hi-fi sound system with Dolby Atmos.
As the range-topping trim, the M60 includes standard Adaptive M Suspension and electronically controlled dampers.

It also has an electronically controlled M Sport differential at the rear axle to improve handling and cornering in slippery conditions.
And that’s not all. In addition to model-specific spring and damper tuning, BMW added front-axle anti-roll bar links to improve steering.
The new BMW iX3 M60 xDrive features SAE Level 2 driver assistance and safety functions with BMW Symbiotic Drive. The optional Highway Assistant enables “attentive, hands-free” driving on highways at up to 85 mph.
BMW will open orders for the new iX3 M60 xDrive at the end of January 2027. We will learn prices closer to when it goes on sale, but since the standard 50 xDrive starts at $61,500, the performance variant will be positioned above that.
