Range Rover Sport EV orders open at nearly $150,000 with up to 378 miles of range

The Range Rover Sport EV is bringing new levels of performance with an all-electric powertrain, but it isn’t cheap.

After launching the flagship Range Rover Electric earlier this month, the luxury brand opened orders for its second fully electric SUV on Wednesday.

The Range Rover Sport Electric is now on sale in the UK, starting at about £110,000, or roughly $146,000.

Like the flagship model, Range Rover promises the Sport EV will match, if not outperform, the current internal combustion engine (ICE) version.

The electric SUV is “first and foremost a Range Rover Sport,” Martin Limbert, the brand’s managing director, said. By using an all-electric propulsion system, Range Rover was able to “unlock new levels of responsiveness and precision,” Limbert said.

Powered by a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, the setup delivers up to 542 horsepower (550 PS) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque, the most any Range Rover Sport has offered to date.

In Dynamic Launch Mode, the Range Rover Sport EV can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in as little as 4.3 seconds.

The electric SUV features “uncompromised all-terrain capability,” Range Rover said, with the ability to wade through 900 mm (35.4″) of water and climb a 45-degree slope.

It’s equipped with advanced tech, including virtual AWD, adaptive dynamics, twin valve dampers, and an electric active roll cage, making it the most dynamic Range Rover Sport in the lineup.

The Range Rover Sport EV gets up to 378 miles of WLTP range and up to 333 miles of real-world range using a 118.5 kWh battery.

Based on an 800V architecture with charging at up to 350 kW, the electric SUV can add up to 136 miles (220 km) of driving range in as little as 22 minutes. Charging from 10% to 80% takes about 22 minutes.

Inside, the interior remains very close to the current model, with a 13.1″ curved glass touchscreen running the latest Pivo Pro infotainment system. There’s also a 13.7″ instrument cluster behind the steering wheel.

Orders for the Range Rover Sport Electric opened in the UK, starting at about £110,000 ($146,000) for the base Dynamic SE trim.

That’s about £44,000 ($58,000) less than the flagship Range Rover Electric SUV, which starts at £154,070 ($200,000) in the UK. Deliveries are scheduled to begin next year.

The Range Rover Sport EV will launch in the US, but when has yet to be confirmed. It’s expected to go on sale sometime in 2027 as a 2028 model. The Range Rover Electric starts at $140,450 in the US, so you can expect it to be slightly less, at around $120,000 to $130,000.
