Ceer revealed EXOBOT on Monday, the new flagship electric SUV and sedan from Saudi Arabia’s first EV brand and auto manufacturer.
Meet Ceer, Saudi Arabia’s first EV brand
First launched in 2022 by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), Ceer is the country’s first homegrown EV brand.
On Monday, Saudi’s Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of PIF, revealed EXOBOT, Ceer’s flagship electric SUV and sedan.
The Exobot SUV and sedan are two of seven vehicles the brand plans to launch over the next five years.
Ceer’s lineup will span from compact to midsize vehicles with “various propulsion options,” but full details have yet to be revealed.
The vehicles will be produced at the Ceer Manufacturing Complex (CMC), which the company said is “the largest automotive production facility in the Middle East and one of the most technologically advanced in the world.”
With local design and engineering, Ceer said its upcoming vehicles are developed “according to the highest global standards, further strengthening Saudi Arabia’s position as a rising force in the global automotive industry.”
The SUV is powered by a 112 kWh high-capacity battery, providing an estimated NEDC range of up to 560 km (448 miles). It also has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive powertrain, delivering a combined 850 horsepower (625 kW), which Ceer said enables it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in just 2.6 seconds.
Thanks to its 800-volt electrical architecture, the vehicle’s battery can recharge from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.
Ceer’s electric SUV features steer-by-wire technology and a steering yoke, real-wheel steering, an adaptive dual-chamber air suspension, and multiple drive modes.
Inside, it has a pillar-to-pillar 48″ curved “Digital Horizon,” 3D Navigation, a camera-based mirror system, and a Ceer voice assistant.
The electric SUV measures 5,016 mm long, 2,101 mm wide, and 1,693 mm tall, with a 3,200 mm wheelbase.
The company has yet to announce prices, but the Exobot SUV will be available in a Limited Launch Edition and a fully customizable Plus model.
We caught a sneak peek of Ceer’s electric SUV testing in Europe earlier this year. The covered prototype looked a bit like a shrunken Tesla Cybertruck.
The electric sedan has a NEDC range of up to 670 km, 850 hp, and a 0 to 100 km/h time of 2.6 seconds.
Ceer’s electric sedan measures 5,260 mm long, 2,102 mm wide, 1,428 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,200 mm.
Ceer will play a key role in Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, a strategic plan to diversify the nation’s economy and reduce its reliance on oil.
As part of the strategy, Saudi Arabia aims to increase non-oil exports to over 50% of non-oil GDP while sourcing over 50% of electricity from renewables. By 2034, Ceer is expected to contribute about $8 billion (over SAR 30 billion) to Saudi Arabia’s GDP.
In June 2024, Ceer secured a deal with Hyundai Transys to use its three-in-one electric drive system for its upcoming EVs. A few months later, it announced a partnership with Rimac to use its high-performance EDS.
