How about an electric Smurf-Mobile as your next ride? The Livian Smurf EV looks like it’s straight out of a cartoon, but it’s a real vehicle and expected to cost around $5,000.
Meet the Livian Smurf EV
“The Blue Smurfs are coming,” Livian Auto said after revealing the first official images of its newest EV, the Smurf.
Geely, the Chinese auto giant that owns Volvo, Polestar, Zeekr, and several other brands, launched Livian Auto in January 2022 as a battery-swap brand for its next-gen EV models. To date, the brand has secured over 1,000 patents for battery swap platforms, stations, and electric vehicles.
The Smurf is a little different from Livian’s other vehicles, mostly SUVs. Although it stands tall, the pint-size EV is only 3,100 mm long (122″), 1,558 mm (61″) wide, and 1,610 mm (63″) tall.
To put that into perspective, the smallest EV sold in the US, the Fiat 500e, is 3,632 mm (143″). Next to that, the Smurf would still look pocket-sized.
The name is fitting. The headlights are “like eyes of an elf,” Livian said, adding to its playful smile front end design. Meanwhile, the “fantasy-inspired taillights” finish off a “truly romantic” back end.
It may be small, but the Livian Smurf EV is loaded with Geely’s latest tech and software. The interior features a floating touchscreen infotainment at the center with a smaller driver display. It also includes a “multifunctional magic steering wheel” with an Elf’s magic wand design.
The electric car will be powered by a single electric motor with up to 30 kW (40 hp) output. Final prices, range, and other specs will be revealed closer to launch.

Would definitely buy one, they are super cute. Since i only drive 4 miles every 2 weeks, this would last 1 yr. Before would need a charge.
However, according to CarNewsChina, it will likely be powered by a 17 kWh battery, which should provide about 200 km (124 miles) CLTC range.
With expected prices under 36,000 yuan, or about $5,000, the Livian Smurf will compete with other ultra-low-cost EVs in China like SAIC-GM-Wuling’s Hongguang Mini EV or the new Bestune Pony. Livian said the Smurf is coming soon, but didn’t give a specific launch date.
