The State of California is moving to ban the sale of Tesla cars amid claims that the company and its CEO, Elon Musk, have misled buyers about the self-driving capabilities of their cars. We’ve also got market-leading news out of Vietnam and a pricey, pricey lesson for one VW ID.Buzz buyer on today’s lesson-learning episode of Quick Charge!
We also ask what this might mean for the recent Uber/Lucid autonomous taxi tie-up and go through a full rundown of the fastest depreciating EVs on the market (and yes, there are four Tesla models in the top 10 … because the Cybertruck was too new to qualify).

...and this is why VW is NOT going to put the Scout in the hands of VW dealers.
The Dealerships want to sell the Buzz and the Scout, about 10 of them, at $10-20,000 above MSRP, and then they let them sit on the lot to rot. Take the price gouging or don't buy. The early adaptor sees that price and WALKS, and NEVER comes back. The price gouging is clearly seen as dishonest dealing, the dealer can't be trusted from the second the sale starts. Why would I trust your maintenance shop either.
Because, for 95% of America that can afford the Buzz, it's a perfectly good car for daily and trip drives, on the Tesla Network.
How many EVs does the average VW dealership sell? Not enough to justify putting the Scout into VW Dealership hands.
Just like GM had to do with Cadillac. I tried to buy a Chevy Volt from 3 local Chevy dealerships back in the day. Had to buy an EV by crossing state lines, instead.
If they don't commit, they won't sell them.
