It’s quite fascinating to follow the pricing of Tesla’s certified pre-owned Model S’s (CPOs), especially since the vehicle has been on the market for almost 4 years now. Overall the Model S has been able to retain its value impressively well, it has the highest value retention of all electric vehicles and most gasoline vehicles according to a NADA report published last year, but nonetheless, we are starting to see some great bargains for early models.
TeslaCPOHunter on Reddit spotted a 2012 Model S 85 for only $50,000. The vehicle has been on the market for a while but it received a $8,400 price drop last night.
It has 30,117 miles and like all Tesla CPO, it benefits from the remaining of the 8-year unlimited miles battery and drive warranty and a new 4-year 50,000 miles pre-owned limited warranty.
The car is located in San Francisco Bay Area, but as it is the case with most Tesla CPOs, you can get it shipped to your nearest service center for a transportation fee of up to $1,500 (shipment to Alaska or Hawaii may cost up to $3,000).
Features:
Not long after TeslaCPOHunter’s find, Majesticjg found a gem of his own in a rare Signature Model S 85 for $58,700. It has about the same mileage has the regular Model S 85 (28,960 miles), but for only a premium of $8,700, you get the Signature Red paint.
Features:
The main downside to these vehicles is that they are not equipped with the Autopilot package, which is not available as a retrofit. Now these could be gone by the time I press “publish” so please don’t hold me responsible.
Update: and they are both gone…
