Hyundai’s electric SUVs are even more tempting this month with a 10% discount, or up to $7,000 in total savings.
Hyundai discounts IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9 EVs
Hyundai is having quite the year. After its best-ever third quarter, the Korean automaker is now on track to notch its sixth straight year of record US retail sales in 2026.
While the US electric vehicle market growth has slowed since the Trump Administration ended the $7,500 federal tax credit a year ago, Hyundai’s IONIQ 5 has remained among the top-selling EVs not named Tesla.
Hyundai responded shortly after by cutting prices on the popular electric SUV by nearly $10,000 on some trims.
The lower prices “reflect Hyundai’s commitment to affordability and its long-term strategy,” the company said.
Starting at about $35,000, the Hyundai IONIQ 5 is among the most affordable electric vehicles in the US.
The IONIQ 5 and three-row IONIQ 9 are built at the Hyundai Motor Group Metaplant America, outside of Savannah, Georgia.

When we toured the facility in April, Hyundai told Electrek that its EVs, including the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 9, were attracting buyers from other brands at a higher rate than any of its gas-powered or hybrid models.
The IONIQ 5 ranked first with a 69.8% conquest rate last year, followed by the IONIQ 9, which had a 64.3% conquest rate.
With the new 2027 models incoming, Hyundai is discounting its current EV lineup with 10% in total savings.

The 2026 IONIQ 5 is available this month with a $3,500 discount, or 10% off its starting MSRP of $35,000. The IONIQ 5 SE Standard Range is listed for lease at $339 a month, which offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 245 miles.
The offer is a 24-month lease with $4,999 due at signing. It might be worth upgrading to the longer-range SE RWD trim for $30 more a month, or $369 a month, with up to 318 miles of range.

The longer-range IONIQ 5 SE RWD offer is also a 24-month lease, but with $3,999 due at signing. Meanwhile, the 2027 Hyundai IONIQ 5 is available with up to $2,750 in total savings with leases starting at $369 a month.
If you’re looking for something bigger, Hyundai is offering up to $7,000 off the three-row IONIQ 9. Starting at $58,995, that’s over a 10% discount.
Leases for the base 2026 IONIQ 9 S RWD start at $419 a month with an EPA-estimated range of up to 335 miles. That offer is for a 36-month lease with $4,999 due at signing.

Separately, Hyundai is offering 0.9% APR financing for the 2026 IONIQ 5 for up to 60 months. The 2026 IONIQ 9 is available with a 1.9% APR for up to 60 months.
While $7,000 off is tempting, Hyundai’s sister company, Kia, is offering up to $10,000 off its three-row electric SUV this month.
Which electric SUV would you drive? The Hyundai IONIQ 5, IONIQ 9, or Kia EV9? Kia’s smaller EV3 is now also on sale, starting at about $30,000.
