BMW’s new iX4 leaks days ahead of its debut [Images]

BMW is expected to reveal the new iX4 this week. Ahead of its debut, images of the new iX4 leaked online, offering an early look.

The all-new iX4 is almost here. BMW said the new electric coupe-SUV will go on sale by the end of 2026.

Following the iX3 and i3, the iX4 will replace the current X4 with BMW’s updated Neue Klasse design and technology.

The 2027 BMW iX4 will be available in two versions: the 40 xDrive and 50 xDrive. Both are all-wheel drive (AWD), but will offer different performance and range options.

It will essentially be a sportier, more crossover-like sibling to the new iX3 SUV. Like the iX3 and i3, the iX4 will use BMW’s sixth-generation (Gen6) eDrive and a 108.7 kWh battery.

The 2027 BMW iX3 50 xDrive offers a WLTP range of up to 500 miles (805 km). In the US, it uses a 112.2-kWh battery, providing an EPA-estimated range of up to 434 miles.

While BMW has yet to confirm a specific debut date, we know the iX4 will make its first appearance this fall. With its debut just around the corner, leaked images of the new iX4 by @Kero_Wolf apparently reveal the interior and exterior.

The images show a design similar to the disguised prototypes spotted testing over the past several months.

With a rakish roofline, BMW’s new iX4 looks more like a grand tourer than a traditional SUV like the iX3. It trades the boxy SUV look for a sporty, fastback-like silhouette.

Inside, the new iX4 adopts BMW’s Neue Klasse interior design. The setup includes a 17.9″ central touchscreen, a newly designed steering wheel, and the BMW Panoramic Vision 3D Head-Up Display that stretches across the dashboard.

If it’s gonna weigh like an SUV and drive like an SUV, I want the rear storage functionality of an SUV. We’ll see how this one tests out.

BMW will reportedly reveal the iX4 in full on Thursday. Prices have yet to be announced, but the new iX4 is expected to be slightly more expensive than the 2027 iX3.

The 2027 iX3 50 xDrive starts at $61,500 in the US and €73,925 ($83,500) in Europe. BMW also sells the iX3 40 in Europe, starting at €63,400 ($71,500). The iX3 40 xDrive offers a WLTP driving range of 628 km (390 miles).
