In recent months, Tesla has been increasingly releasing features for owners to take better advantage of their mobile app.
Now a new update brings charging options straight from the app.
As Tesla’s fleet grows, the Supercharger network is becoming increasingly busy and it is becoming useful to know how many stalls are available at stations nearby.
Last year, Tesla finally released live in-car Supercharger stall occupancy information.
But the information is only available inside the vehicle… until now.
Tesla’s latest mobile app software update includes a new feature that shows charging stations close to your car:
“You can now view nearby charging options in the Charging screen. Tap a location to start vehicle navigation. Note: Requires car software version 2018.48 or above.”
With the nearby stations, Tesla also lets you know about the availability of the Supercharger stations:
Now Tesla owners will be able to check charging options remotely in order to prepare their trips.
They can also push navigation to the charging stations from the mobile app to the car, which is a fun feature to combine with this new one.
In September, Tesla released another mobile app software update that let owners get more control over their cars from their phones.
The three main features were third-party map apps navigation sharing, remotely initiating vehicle firmware updates, and media control for passengers.
Tesla says that it is working to increase capabilities for owners from its mobile app.
Last month, CEO Elon Musk said that Tesla will integrate service into its mobile app – giving the ability to call a ‘Tesla Ranger’ with just one tap.
