Earlier this week we reported on the NextEV/NIO EP9 beating every production car ever made around the Nurburgring Nordschleife, one of the most challenging racetracks in the world – so challenging that it has earned the nickname “The Green Hell.” At the time we only had a press release, and an edited video of their previous EV-record-breaking lap, but NIO has just posted the full onboard video of this incredible lap.
In the video, you can see the effect of the EP9’s impressive performance stats: 1 megawatt of power (1,341 horsepower), up to 2.5G of lateral grip, acceleration of 0-124mph in 7.1 seconds and 194mph top speed. And you can see just how challenging of a track this is – with the twists, turns and bumps through the German countryside which have earned it such a fearsome reputation.
