The Yadea KS5 Pro electric scooter isn’t some low-performance, toss-it-after-a-month-type of electric scooter.
I spent several weeks testing the KS5 Pro electric scooter, as well as also trying out Yadea’s smaller KS3 scooter, and I’d definitely recommend them both.
Yadea KS5 Pro tech specs • Motor: 700W-peak rear hub motor • Top speed: 35 km/h (22 mph) • Range: 60 km (37 mi) • Battery: 36V 15.6Ah (561 Wh) • Weight: 20.2 kg (44.5 lb) • Max load: 100 kg (220 lb) • Frame: Aluminum
Yadea KS5 Pro tech specs (cont'd) • Suspension: Front suspension fork • Brakes: Front drum brake and rear disc brake, plus rear electronic brake • Wheels: 10-inch with solid tires • Extras: LCD display with speedometer, LED headlight and tail light, smartphone app, 3 speed modes, IP54 water resistant rating
I’m impressed to see that Yadea has stuffed over 550Wh of battery into the scooter. That’s much larger than most entry-level electric scooters, and means that you’re going to get great range out of the KS5 Pro.
I really like the lighting on the scooter as well. The bright headlight up front is mounted high so that cars can see it, and the rear tail light is also nice and visible. It’s also shaped like the Yadea logo, which is a nice touch.
The front suspension fork works fine, but it’s not particularly high end. It is certainly better than nothing though, and will really make a difference when you find yourself on a brick path or other high-vibration surface.
