Tesla delays Cybertruck production due to supply chain constraints; new timeline is vague

by Fred Lambert

Tesla confirmed that it is delaying the start of Cybertruck production as supply chain issues, especially the chip shortage, would limit volumes significantly.

The new timeline is now quite vague.

When Tesla unveiled the Cybertruck back in 2019, Tesla said that the electric pickup truck would make it to market by the end of 2021.

With the focus clearly on bringing the Model Y to production at the factory, and that being delayed as well, it appeared likely that the Cybertruck production timeline could also slip.

Today, CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the Cybertruck timeline has slipped again.

Musk said that Tesla would not launch any new vehicle this year due to supply chain constrained.
