Massive Tesla Model 3 shipment spotted ahead of first oversea deliveries

A massive number of Tesla Model 3 vehicles have been spotted being gathered by the automaker at the San Francisco port ahead initial oversea deliveries.

Last month, Tesla started opening Model 3 orders to reservation holders in several European markets and gradually expanded.

We have since seen the automaker takes several steps toward starting production for the European version of the Model 3.

Last week, Tesla started registering European Model 3 VIN as it switches production to produce the vehicle with a CCS connector.

Now, the automaker appears to be gathering a large shipment of Model 3 vehicles at the San Francisco port as spotted by @somehowwelost:

The shipment looks to mostly, if not entirely, consist of Model 3 vehicles and it would be the first important shipment to go overseas.

It is estimated to easily be over 1,000 units.

While the shipment is most likely going to Europe, it could also be going to China, where Tesla has also been taking orders from reservation holders for over a month and recently opened orders to everyone.

If it’s indeed going to Europe, Tesla could still be gathering vehicles at the port in order to ship out even more vehicles.

According to the port company that handles vehicle unloading at the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, they plan to handle 3,000 Model 3’s per week coming to Europe starting next month.

Transit time by boat between San Francisco and Zeebrugge can take between 2 and 5 weeks.

As we previously reported, Tesla had received almost 14,000 Model 3 orders in Europe as of last week. That’s only from reservation holders and the number is expected to grow since Tesla has now opened Model 3 orders to the public in Europe and China.

In those markets, Tesla is currently only taking orders for the Model 3 Performance version and Dual Motor AWD version, which happen to be the most expensive versions of the vehicle.
