Coca-Cola bought a fleet of 100 Chevy Bolt EVs from Opel

If you can’t get your hands on the Opel Ampera E, the European version of the Chevy Bolt EV, it might be because Coca-Cola is buying them.

The beverage company announced that it bought a fleet of 100 Chevy Bolt EVs.

Opel hasn’t been able to capitalize on the demand of the Ampera E in Europe because it is dependent on GM’s supply of the Chevy Bolt EV.

GM limited the allocations in each market to extremely low volumes, which forced Opel to ask its Norwegian dealers to stop taking orders for the Bolt EV last year and to later increase the price by $5,500 for the electric vehicle in Europe.

But Coca-Cola Norway managed to get quite a few of them.

They announced the purchase of 100 Opel Ampera-e electric cars and the installation of 176 charging stations at their Norwegian headquarters:

They wrote in the description of the video (translated from Norwegian):

“Norwegian electric car policy has been recognized internationally. Coca-Cola European Partners is following up with a major electric car venture in Norway, investing in 100 Opel Ampera-e electric cars. With this, the company becomes one of the first to replace large parts of its fossil company car park with electric cars. In addition, the increase in the use of electric cars among employees means that the company also invests in 176 charging stations at the head office in Lørenskog.”

That’s indeed one of the largest deployment of electric cars in a company car fleet.
