Watch Tesla Semi prototype do a ludicrous acceleration from low speed

If you are in the Bay Area, you might be able to catch glimpses of Tesla Semi prototypes being tested on public roads.

We keep looking for evidence of the crazy specs that Tesla claimed at the unveiling event last year and some sightings are starting to show the truck’s insane power.

A new sighting yesterday showed Tesla’s all-electric truck accelerate extremely fast from low-speed. The vehicle was slowly traveling on a public road and suddenly accelerated right in front of a 25 mph speed limit sign.

It’s likely not the best place to test the vehicle since it’s fair to say that they probably broke the speed limit with that launch.

Several Tesla Semi prototypes have been spotted in the Bay Area between Tesla’s Fremont, Palo Alto and Sunnyvale facilities. This grey prototype has also been spotted at Tesla’s design studio in Los Angeles and a black prototype has been spotted in Palo Alto recently.

Tesla is currently conducting a test program with partners ahead of the planned start of production next year.

The automaker also plans to first use its electric truck to transport cargo between its Fremont factory and Gigafactory 1 in Nevada.
