Tesla picks top 10 fan made videos, opens them to vote for 3 winners at Model 3 event

In March, Tesla launched a fan-made commercial competition for people to submit <90-second videos promoting Tesla.

The company has now chosen 10 videos out of hundreds of submissions and people can vote on them to get 3 final winners.

Unlike most automakers, Tesla showed no interest in advertising its vehicles in the traditional ways, like TV commercials.

Instead, the company focused on marketing through their stores, PR, and word-of-mouth with their referral program.

Nonetheless, it never stopped fans from making their own videos and posting them on the internet.

Amateur and professional video makers had the last 5 months to submit new videos based on a set of guidelines.

They now announced having chosen 10 videos, which they are tweeting one by one:

Tesla added that they will include the 3 most liked videos on Twitter by the end of the day Friday in the Model 3 event webcast.

People have to go to Tesla’s Twitter to like them and not on Youtube since famous Youtuber MKBHD would have won without contest due to his video already having over 50,000 likes.

They are still posting them at the time of writing, but you can check Tesla’s Twitter here.

In order to more easily watch the videos, Tesla also made a playlist of all of them:
