Tesla’s solar roof and Powerwall 2.0 event live coverage – webcast starts at 5:30pm PDT (UTC-7)

Tesla is at Universal Studios in Los Angeles to unveil its new solar roof product, Powerwall 2.0, and potentially a new Tesla charger. The event will be live-streamed on Tesla’s website starting at 5:30pm PDT (UTC-7) and we will be live from the venue to bring you as much information as possible.

Jameson is on route to the event right now and I (Fred) will be sharing updates from him ahead of the presentation here and after if we can get more information from Tesla.

T-0 min (5:50 PM PT) – Powerwall 2 has 14 kWh capacity for $5,500

T-0 min (5:47 PM PT) – all houses there are solar houses says Musk.

T-0 min (5:45 PM PT) – It’s starting. SolarCity CEO is on stage to introduce Elon Musk.

T-2 mins (5:43 PM PT) – It looks like the house in the back could have the solar roof:

While it was first presented as a ‘Tesla + SolarCity event’, Tesla has since left out any mention of SolarCity in the information for the event and we now know that they plan to phase the SolarCity brand after the merger. But SolarCity was part of the development of the solar roof to be unveiled today – Fred
