Leave a Tesla Model X unattended for a few seconds and it becomes a demo car

Bjørn Nyland, winner of a Founder Series Model X through Tesla’s referral program and consequently, one of the first Model X owners in Europe, decided to do an interesting social experiment with his brand new all-electric SUV.

He parked his Model X in Aker Brygge, a popular area for shopping and dining in Oslo, Norway, and decided to see what would happen if he opens the Falcon Wing doors of his vehicle and walks away to film the reactions of passersby.

Within just 2 minutes of walking away, a crowd had amassed around the Model X and people were treating the vehicle like a company-owned display car – touching it and taking a seat without asking.

Of course, Nyland didn’t mind because admittedly, he was asking for it. Nonetheless, he was surprised by the quick reaction.

Here you can watch the video:

It’s not really surprising that the Falcon Wing doors would attract so much attention, but it’s also interesting how quick people were comfortable sitting in a seemingly unattended car. Though I’m no psychologist, I would think the ‘herd mentality’ had something to do with it.
