We’re in Reno/Sparks this week for Tesla Gigafactory Opening, starting tonight

The Reno, Nevada Gigafactory is a key differentiator in both the energy storage and EV space and therefore, one of the big keys to Tesla’s future and it opens officially this week.

The good news is we’ll be on hand and will be broadcasting live throughout the events this week. Stay tuned to Electrek where the first news should be coming tonight and extend to tomorrow’s press-only show.

We will bring you a report on a tour of the plant tomorrow, which is currently under construction for an important expansion as we reported yesterday.

Tesla’s leadership, including Elon Musk and JB Straubel, will reportedly be available for comments after the tour.

Between Tuesday and Friday will try to bring you a lot of detailed coverage based on what we will learn throughout the press-only events scheduled for today and tomorrow.

And finally, there’s the Grand Opening Event on Friday, which promises to be a real party with a lot of Tesla owners in the attendance.

  • 12:00-12:30 PM: Arrival at the Gigafactory and intro
  • 12:30- 2:30 PM: Exterior and Interior tours
  • 3:00-4:00 PM: Remarks and Q&A with Elon Musk and JB Straubel
