Tesla Energy delivered over 2,500 Powerwalls and nearly 100 Powerpacks (25 MWh total) to 4 continents last quarter

While not quite as exciting as its plans to move half a million EVs in 2 years, Tesla today also announced modest sales of its Energy products as part of its shareholder letter today.

Tesla Energy posted strong growth in the quarter as well. During Q1, we delivered over 25 MWh of energy storage to customers in four continents. We delivered over 2,500 Powerwalls and nearly 100 Powerpacks in the quarter throughout North America, Asia, Europe and Africa.

Powerwalls have been late in delivery with many pushed back up to a year. It appears that Tesla can’t get enough parts for its products just yet. Recently, many Powerwall customers got this email:

Powerwalls first started hitting Then the UK three months ago. Tesla also offers a Solar+ Powerwall package in  South Africa through Enel Green Power SpA.

Tesla is expected to release a second generation Powerwall which I’ve heard will be compatible with more inverters including micro-inverter setups within the coming year.

Elon Musk’s other company Solar City began offering Solar+ Nest + Powerwalls packages recently which should help spur demand.  If recent pictures are anything to go by, Tesla is ramping up its Powerwall output sharply.
