Tesla’s wheels are generally recognized as a strength of the company’s designs and when Tesla unveiled the Model 3 last week, we weren’t disappointed by the prototype’s wheels. The automaker actually displayed a few new wheel designs during the event.
Like all other more novel design features in the Model 3, people are wondering what will make it to production and what will be left out. For example, there were doubts about the lack of instrument cluster making it, but a Tesla representative at the event said that it will make it to production.
The same happened with the new wheel design and one design in particular caught the eye of a few fans who asked Tesla CEO Elon Musk about it. Since Musk was already in a small Tweetstorm, he answered the question:

Independently, Musk also acknowledged that the black matte color was very popular and therefore it makes sense for it to make it to production:
