Video of Bosch installing automated driving hardware on a Model S

Bosch released a time-lapse video of the installation of automated driving hardware on a Tesla Model S. The German electronics giant is an important supplier for Tesla’s autopilot program, but they also have their own automated driving effort and they use the Model S as a test vehicle.

Last month, the company released a video demonstrating what the user experience could be like in a Bosch powered self-driving vehicle  and the interface was CGI into a Model S.

Bosch is just one of many non-automakers investing in automated driving technologies, but their use of an electric vehicle to test the tech gives us an interesting glimpse of what the future of transport could look like.
