BMW i3 gets Which review

The look of this thing is growing on me (when it isn’t orange). Bottom line from this review: The base Model is a deal but the add-ons aren’t worth it.

I test drove the i3, and found really only one aspect of the car exciting. This was the acceleration.

I hated almost everything else about this car. I find it ugly to look at, it looks like a squat small SUV. One sits rather high in the seats. There is practically no storage space. This might be OK with only two people in the car, because the rear seat fold down, but with four people, forget about bringing any sizable luggage. I found the GPS annoying, but this may be because I am accustomed to the various GPS apps I have on my iPhone. Nobody at the local BMW could give me any real information about the extra small gas engine that charges the battery. In theory with the little engine the range of the car would be infinite, if it would charge the battery faster than it would deplete while driving, but nobody was able to provide an answer to this question.

The absolute worst part of this car however is the obscene price, … $42,275. Or if you want the so-called “Launch Edition”, … $50,875. With range extender, … $54,725!

I wish Tesla would make a smaller car than the Model S. I’m suer they would do a much better job in all aspects than BMW.
